Veterinary Technician – Overnight ICU

🩺 Key Responsibilities – ICU & Emergency Medicine

Critical Care & Advanced Nursing

•  Monitor and manage hospitalized ICU and critical care patients throughout the night 
•  Perform advanced technical procedures including: 
  •  IV catheter placement 
  •  Blood collection and laboratory diagnostics 
  •  Blood transfusions 
  •  Continuous rate infusions (CRIs) 
  •  Oxygen therapy management 
  •  Mechanical ventilation monitoring 
  •  Advanced patient monitoring and nursing care 
•  Assist with emergency stabilization and urgent interventions 
•  Recognize subtle patient changes and communicate findings to clinicians promptly 
•  Administer medications via IV, IM, SQ, oral, and injectable routes 
•  Deliver detailed patient assessments and treatment updates throughout the shift 

Specialty Medicine Exposure

•  Work alongside Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery teams 
•  Support advanced diagnostics and specialty treatment plans 
•  Expand your knowledge through exposure to complex medical and surgical cases 

Team Collaboration

•  Participate in patient rounds and case discussions 
•  Ensure seamless communication during shift transitions 
•  Collaborate closely with doctors and fellow technicians to deliver exceptional patient care 

Medical Records & Hospital Standards

•  Maintain accurate medical records and treatment logs 
•  Ensure ICU and treatment areas remain clean, organized, and stocked 
•  Support hospital-wide patient care standards and protocols 

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• 2–3+ years of veterinary experience required
• Emergency, ICU, or Specialty experience strongly preferred 
• Strong technical and nursing skills 
• Comfortable working independently and making critical observations overnight 
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients simultaneously 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills 
• Commitment to gold-standard patient care 

• Preferred Qualifications

  •  Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) 
  •  Emergency or Critical Care experience 
  •  Experience with transfusions, CRIs, ventilators, and advanced monitoring 
  •  Specialty hospital experience

  • $21.00–$25.00/hr based on experience
  • $26+/hr negotiable for actively Licensed Veterinary Technicians with relevant ER/Specialty experience
