Veterinary Jobs at Vet Clinics and Animal Hospitals

Looking for jobs in vets?

The listings above are open veterinary jobs at animal hospitals, general-practice and small animal clinics, emergency and specialty hospitals, and relief shifts, with Featured listings first and then the newest.

Every job here sits inside a veterinary practice, from associate veterinarian to kennel attendant; grooming, pet retail, zoo and research-lab jobs are not listed.

The live count beside Latest Openings changes daily as practices post new roles and filled ones come down.

Use the salary, benefits and sort menus above the feed to narrow the list, for example to jobs that list health insurance, a CE allowance or a 401k match.

To browse by job type, use the role links below: each role page also lists openings by state and city wherever there are live jobs.

What Types of Veterinary Jobs Are There?

Veterinary practices hire for eight core roles, and each has its own job page and career guide.

Veterinarian jobs: associate veterinarian and staff DVM openings in general and small animal practice (veterinarian career guide).

Emergency veterinarian jobs: urgent and after-hours caseloads at emergency and specialty hospitals, including urgent care and overnight shifts (emergency veterinarian career guide).

Relief veterinarian jobs: contract and per-diem shifts covering other veterinarians' schedules (relief veterinarian career guide).

Veterinary technician jobs: technician roles, posted under state titles such as Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), RVT or CVT (vet tech career guide).

Veterinary assistant jobs: hands-on patient and exam-room support alongside technicians and veterinarians (vet assistant career guide).

Veterinary receptionist jobs: front-desk and client service representative (CSR) roles covering check-in, scheduling and client communication (vet receptionist career guide).

Veterinary practice manager jobs: running staffing, scheduling and the business side of the hospital; postings also use titles such as office manager or hospital administrator (practice manager career guide).

Kennel attendant jobs: animal care support for boarded and hospitalized patients on the practice team (kennel attendant career guide).

Compensation

How Much Do Veterinarians and Vet Techs Earn?

In the Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS May 2025 national release, the median annual wage is $130,100 for veterinarians (SOC 29-1131) and $47,380 for veterinary technologists and technicians (SOC 29-2056).

The veterinarian salary guide and the vet tech salary guide break those figures down by percentile and state; individual listings show the employer's own pay range where the practice publishes one.

Hiring Veterinary Professionals? Post a Job

Veterinary practices pay to post; job seekers never pay to browse or apply.

A Standard listing costs $199 and a Featured listing $399 at launch pricing (regular $299 and $499): a one-time payment, live for 30 days, with no auto-renewal.

Featured listings get a highlighted card and top-of-feed placement, and every listing is indexed in Google Jobs.

See pricing for the multi-location group plans, and the veterinary hiring hub for job descriptions, interview questions and pay benchmarks by role.

FAQ

Veterinary Job Search Questions

01What veterinary jobs are open near me?

The feed at the top of this page shows the newest veterinary jobs, Featured listings first, and the live count beside it shows how many are open right now. To narrow by location, open the job page for your role, such as veterinary technician jobs or veterinarian jobs: each lists openings by state and city wherever there are live listings. The count changes daily as practices post and fill roles.

02Is it free to apply for veterinary jobs on VeterinaryHires?

Yes.

Browsing and applying are free for job seekers.

Clicking Apply on a listing takes you to the employer's own application, so you apply directly to the practice rather than through VeterinaryHires.

There is no account to create and no resume to upload here.

Employers pay to post their jobs, which is how the site is funded.

03What is a Featured veterinary job listing?

A Featured listing is one a practice has paid to highlight.

It sits at the top of the feed, ahead of the newest standard listings, on a highlighted card with a colored accent stripe down its left edge.

The job and the application route are the same as any other listing; the difference is placement, not the role itself.

04Where do the veterinary job listings come from?

Listings are a mix of jobs posted directly by veterinary practices and jobs gathered from employers' public career pages.

Every one is a role inside a veterinary practice: general practice, emergency and specialty, or relief work.

Because practices post and fill jobs every day, the number of open listings changes daily rather than staying fixed.
