Veterinary Technician

VCA Allendale Animal Hospital is expanding their Patient Care Team and seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician!

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. 4 x 10's with rotating Saturdays.

Compensation: $21 - 28/hr and pay range is negotiable based on experience, education, skills, and credentials. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible new hires. Terms and conditions apply.

Key Responsibilities :

• Patient Care: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including administering treatments, medications, and monitoring their recovery.
• Anesthesia and Surgery: Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including anesthesia induction, monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Diagnostics: Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs, ultrasounds, ensuring accurate results and timely processing.
• Client Education: Engage with clients to provide clear communication on their pets’ health, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior staff and help foster a collaborative, positive work environment. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to grow your leadership skills and potentially lead teams or projects.
• Technician Utilization: Play a pivotal role in all areas of patient care, from routine exams to critical care cases, ensuring your technical skills are fully utilized.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician certification or be eligible to transfer/obtain a license in MI.  
• Proficiency in technical skills including surgery prep and monitoring anesthesia.
• Passion for mentoring Technicians and Assistants.
