At 5280 Veterinary Care, we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and genuinely enjoys building relationships with patients, clients, and teammates. Compensation

• $23–$25/hour, depending on experience and skill set

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts each week
• One rotating late shift each week (9:30 AM–8:30 PM)
• Rotating Saturdays (every other Saturday)

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians during appointments, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures
• Safely and compassionately restrain patients for examinations and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites while maintaining exceptional cleanliness and sterilization standards
• Collect laboratory samples including blood, urine, and fecal specimens
• Administer medications and vaccines under veterinarian supervision
• Take and process diagnostic radiographs
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
• Educate clients on treatments, medications, and follow-up care
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes to the medical team
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked hospital
• Work collaboratively to create a positive experience for both clients and patients

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 2 years of recent veterinary assistant experience (required)
• Recent, hands-on experience assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with dental procedures is required, including dental radiography, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and maintaining proper dental workflow.
• Strong patient handling and restraint skills.
• Experience with laboratory sample collection, diagnostic radiology, medication administration, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• A personal and professional commitment to providing gold-standard patient care, with exceptional attention to detail in every aspect of your work.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
