$20–$23/hour | Full-Time | Four 10-Hour Shifts | One Saturday per Month

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time: 40 hours/week
• Four 10-hour shifts
• $20–$23/hour, based on experience and skill level
• At least one Saturday per month
• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturdays: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM every other Saturday
• Closed Sundays

Are you an experienced Veterinary Assistant looking for a practice where communication, teamwork, and continued learning are truly valued? Boston Veterinary Clinic in Wellesley is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our two-doctor team!

We are a full-service primary care practice providing care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. As a Fear Free Certified® and Cat Friendly Certified® practice, we place a strong emphasis on creating a calm, positive experience for both our patients and their people.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who already has veterinary medicine experience and is comfortable with the fundamentals of a Veterinary Assistant role.

Ideally, you have experience with:

• Blood draws
• Patient triage
• Anesthesia and/or sedation
• Surgical and dental support
• Fear Free or low-stress handling
• Client communication
• Basic veterinary terminology and patient care

Experience with anesthesia and sedation is especially valuable because we work with many fearful, anxious, and stressed patients who benefit from thoughtful, low-stress handling and sedation when appropriate.

You don't have to already be Fear Free Certified—we'll support you in becoming certified. What matters most is that you're open to Fear Free principles and committed to learning.

Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant

• Provide Essential Patient Care: You'll be a key player in the health of our patients, assisting the medical team with hands-on care and ensuring every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
• Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: You'll be the backbone of the clinic, anticipating the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll help create a seamless visit for our clients by assisting with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach.
• Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: You'll take pride in maintaining the hospital, performing clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold our high standards of care.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
• Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
