What if you could practice exceptional medicine, genuinely enjoy the people you work with, and have a meaningful voice in shaping the hospital around you?
What if you were surrounded by a team empowered to excel in their respective roles, allowing you to focus on what you do best: being a veterinarian?
At Livewell Animal Hospital of St. Anthony, we're working to make that a reality. Led by Dr. Abi Maynard, Founding Lead DVM, and Liz Gonzalez, Hospital Manager, our hospital was built on the belief that exceptional patient care, an outstanding client experience, and a fulfilling workplace for veterinary professionals should go hand in hand.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced, confident, and collaborative Associate Veterinarian who shares that philosophy and is excited to help shape our future.
Dr. Maynard brings experience across small-town mixed animal medicine, multi-doctor hospital leadership, and hospital development, with clinical interests in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and complex medical cases.
She is passionate about mentorship, progressive medicine, and developing veterinarians, but she also believes the best professional relationships are reciprocal.
We're looking for a colleague who is confident managing cases independently, brings their own clinical expertise and ideas, and enjoys collaborating with other doctors. Someone who can challenge our thinking, introduce new approaches, and help us continue raising the standard of care. We want someone who can lean on us just as much as we can lean on them.
One of the things we're most intentional about at St. Anthony is empowering our entire veterinary team.
We believe great medicine happens when doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives are trusted and supported to work at the highest level of their training and abilities.
Through thoughtful delegation, strong communication, and efficient workflows, we're creating an environment where our doctors can focus on being doctors while every teammate plays a meaningful role in delivering exceptional patient care.
Alongside Dr. Maynard, Liz brings more than a decade of experience in operations, team development, and employee engagement. Together, they're building a hospital where high standards, mutual respect, accountability, and genuine care for one another are part of everyday practice.
Our culture is grounded in our WAG values: Work Together. Amaze. Grow.
These aren't simply words on a wall. They're how we approach our patients, support our teammates, and challenge ourselves to keep getting better.
Practice excellent medicine with confidence. Enjoy the autonomy to make thoughtful, individualized medical decisions while collaborating with colleagues who value evidence-based medicine and continuous learning.
Be supported by an empowered team. Work alongside skilled teammates who are encouraged to fully utilize their training, expertise, and licensure.
Bring your own ideas to the table. Your experience, clinical interests, and perspective will help shape our medical standards, services, and future growth.
Work with leaders who value your voice. Dr. Maynard and Liz believe in open communication, mutual respect, and creating an environment where everyone can contribute to the hospital's success.
Build meaningful client relationships. Deliver exceptional medicine alongside compassionate communication, education, and a client experience rooted in trust.
Grow a career you can sustain. Be part of a team committed to building the systems, collaboration, and support that allow veterinary professionals to thrive.
Located in Northeast Minneapolis, just minutes from Minneapolis, our hospital is committed to becoming an important part of the community we serve.
Dr. Maynard is passionate about mentorship, veterinary leadership, and community outreach, building relationships with future veterinary professionals, local organizations, and the families who trust us with their pets.
We're proud of what we're building, but even more excited about what comes next.
