🐾 Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant

Looking for a Veterinary Assistant role where you can put your hands-on skills to work in an urgent care environment? 🐶🐱

Community Pet Healthcare is looking for an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Zionsville, IN!

💰 $18–$21/hour, based on experience

⭐ A minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience is required for this position.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys a faster-paced environment, working with a variety of cases, and being part of a team that makes a meaningful difference for pets and their families.

? What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is confident, compassionate, and comfortable working in an urgent care setting.

Candidates must have at least 1 year of veterinary experience and experience with the following is preferred:

Patient handling and restraint
Injection administration
Venipuncture
Supporting the veterinary team with patient care
Working in a fast-paced urgent care environment
Communicating effectively with clients and team members
Maintaining a positive, team-first attitude

📅 Schedule & Availability

Weekend availability is a must for this position.

The preferred schedule includes:

Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
One weekday shift
Friday: 2:00 PM–8:00 PM availability is required

Schedules may vary based on hospital needs.

Your Impact as an Urgent Care Veterinary Assistant

Be a Critical Support in Urgent Situations: You'll be an essential part of the medical team, directly assisting veterinarians and technicians with hands-on patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Ensure a Seamless Workflow During a Crisis: Your ability to anticipate needs and maintain composure will be key to keeping the clinic running efficiently, even during a medical emergency.
Provide a Calming Presence for Clients: You'll be a reassuring point of contact for worried pet owners, assisting with check-ins, payments, and communications with empathy and professionalism.
Maintain High Standards Under Pressure: You'll uphold our commitment to excellence by ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment at all times.

What You'll Bring to the Team

At least 1 year of veterinary experience, with ER or high-volume experience preferred.
The ability to stay calm, composed, and efficient during a medical crisis.
Confidence and skill in handling pets, with proficiency in basic laboratory, pharmacy, and nursing skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
A flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
