Medical Lead Veterinarian

• Interest In: Small-animal general practice in a progressive, well-equipped veterinary hospital offering a broad mix of routine, advanced, and urgent care services. Clinical interests may include preventative care and wellness, diagnostics, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, advanced soft-tissue procedures, comprehensive dentistry with digital dental technology, laser therapy, therapeutic laser treatments, ultrasound, electrocardiography (ECG/EKG), nutrition and senior pet care, pain management, and the opportunity to support urgent and select emergency cases. This role is open to General Practice, Urgent Care, or a hybrid GP/Urgent Care position, with flexibility to tailor the role to the right candidate and openness to further conversations to ensure the best fit for both the veterinarian and the hospital.

• Medical Lead / Experienced Veterinarian: We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to step into a Medical Lead role within our established, multi-doctor practice. This is a predominantly clinical leadership opportunity ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine while helping shape clinical standards, guide medical protocols, and support a collaborative veterinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and excited to influence the future growth and continued excellence of the hospital. 

Medical Lead Role Snapshot

Clinical Responsibilities (80–90%)

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate veterinary care across wellness, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and urgent care services
 • Independently manage routine, complex, and chronic cases with strong clinical judgment
 • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients regarding diagnostics, treatment plans, and outcomes
 • Lead by example on the floor, modeling excellent medicine, efficiency, and patient care standards

Medical Lead / Leader of Medicine Responsibilities (10–20%)

• Serve as the primary clinical leader and medical authority within the hospital
 • Guide medical standards, protocols, and consistency in case management
 • Support doctor alignment and provide clinical guidance on complex cases
 • Partner with local leadership (Regional Medical Director) regarding medical equipment, diagnostics, and workflow improvements
 • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the veterinary team

• Supportive, Experienced Technical Staff: Practice medicine alongside a high technician-to-DVM ratio, supported by a skilled and collaborative team that allows doctors to focus on patient care, efficiency, and high-quality medicine throughout the day.

• Thoughtful Growth & Facility Expansion: The hospital currently features 8 well-appointed exam rooms, with plans already in place to add an additional 3–4 exam rooms as part of a proactive growth initiative. This expansion reflects the practice’s commitment to long-term growth, improved client experience, and creating additional space to support future doctors, services, and workflow optimization.

• Growing, Collaborative Doctor Team: Join a 5.5 DVM team with room to grow, offering a collegial environment where doctors collaborate, share knowledge, and support one another while continuing to expand services and medical capabilities intentionally.

Who We're Looking For

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• A valid state license and in good standing to practice.
