Blood Bank and Hospice Veterinary Assistant Level 2

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is hiring a full-time Blood Bank and Hospice Level 2 Veterinary Assistant to join our team.

The Blood Bank and Hospice Level 2 Veterinary Assistant supports both Blood Bank and Hospice Services on the second floor of DoveLewis North. This role assists with patient care, appointments, procedures, and daily department operations while supporting DVMs and certified veterinary technicians as needed. Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of patient care and work areas.

A genuine love of and respect for all animals is required, along with an appreciation of the human-animal bond and the sensitive nature of hospice care.

Wage :

$23-$26 per hour depending on experience, education and certifications. This position also qualifies for overnight and weekend differential pay for applicable shifts.

Schedule:

The Blood Bank and Hospice Level 2 Veterinary Assistant will work eight hour shifts, Monday-Friday.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• 1+ year working as a veterinary assistant, or a combination of experience working in the veterinary field and current enrollment in an AVMA accredited tech program.
• Preferred minimum of one year emergency or other specialty small animal care experience.
• Any suitable combination of experience or education may substitute for the above.
